Qwest Slashes Prices

The Qwest Connect® Silver with Windows Live™ package already experience price cuts in November, with prices being cut from $39.99 to $14.99. A spokeswoman for Qwest stated that these price cuts weren’t affected by competition, but that they were made in isolation. She added, “Given the current economic and competitive environment [Qwest] believe[s] this promotional pricing will help them continue to get their higher speed products in front of more people.” She claimed that these services were already being received positively by customers in the markets where they have been rolled out.

The Executive Vice President of Mass Markets at Qwest, Dan Yost, said in a statement, “The value of reliable high-speed Internet that connects people to what’s important in their lives is fast becoming a priority—even more so in challenging economic times.” So if it is a necessity, why pay more than you need to?
